This volume brings together the proceedings of the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Professional Artistic Education and Culture: Challenges of the XXI Century”, held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Ukraine, in April 2016.

It discusses a wide range of the most pressing issues in contemporary artistic education and culture, including philosophical principles, the historical experience of professional artistic education, and problems concerning innovative technologies in continuing professional education, among others.

In Ukraine’s present socio-cultural space, the issue of finding new ways of designing the semantic content of artistic education is often controversial, and requires broad awareness from the larger international educational community. This is because artistic education plays an important role in the preservation and development of national cultural and educational traditions, and contributes to the integration process into the international educational space.

Professor Olga Oleksiuk is a Doctor of Sciences in Pedagogy and Head of Theory and Methodology of Music Art in the Institute of Arts at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Ukraine. She is a scientific researcher in the field of artistic education, exploring issues concerning the spiritual and philosophical development of future professionals in the field of music. She is the author of over 200 scientific publications, including monographs, textbooks and manuals, and scientific articles.
