This book will assist potential educators in making the reflections necessary to decide if they should consider becoming teachers, and, if so, how they can become the best possible resources for their future students. It will help these potential practitioners learn how to become effective teachers, how to build the philosophy necessary to remain consistently effective, and how to help their students learn how to think. Among the many topics addressed in this text are characteristics making a teacher effective; delivery of curriculum; motivation of learners; assessment of learning; classroom management; and some of the challenges facing today’s teachers (including teaching in the midst of a global pandemic).

Dr Anthony Berman is a retired Assistant Professor from the School of Education at Hamline University, USA, having also served as a Visiting Educator and Curriculum Consultant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He holds a BA in Slavic Linguistics, an MSE in Counseling and Reading, and an EdD in Educational Leadership. He has taught adult learners for over 25 years, concentrating on teaching teachers how to be effective. His primary research interest is the characteristics of effective teachers, and he has published several articles and a book on effective teaching.
