The 21st century is characterised by continuous changes which place huge demands on leaders in educational settings, requiring them to face change before they are engulfed by it. This book provides advice and guidance on how to lead effectively in times that also feature added complexity which, together, could fundamentally change the way in which we organise and deliver learning.

The contributors are experienced and outstanding leaders from a wide range of educational settings including state, independent and international organisations. All contributors have been members of the MBA Educational Leadership (International), run by the UCL Centre for Educational Leadership at the London Institute of Education (Top-ranked Faculty of Education in the world for last eleven years).

This book will be invaluable for scholars and students in postgraduate programmes in educational leadership. Organised into two sections, it provides an overview from multiple perspectives of the changes already apparent before offering case studies from a variety of settings.

Trevor Male has worked in the field of education for over 50 years, including full-time employment as an academic since 1993 in four universities (Brunel, Lincoln, Hull and UCL, all in the UK) as well as previously part-time in two others (Open and Leicester, also in the UK). Currently he is Associate Professor in the UCL Centre for Educational Leadership, Institute of Education, where he is Programme Leader for the MBA Educational Leadership (International). In previous careers, he was an officer in the Education Department of London Borough of Harrow (1986-1993) and a qualified schoolteacher (1973-86). He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He continues to be an active researcher and is engaged in several live projects, with many academic articles, conference papers and book chapters having been published.
