This book conceptualises the notion of internationalisation of education in Kazakhstan. It provides a historical overview of its emergence since the collapse of the Soviet Union and the independence of Kazakhstan in 1991. The interface of Western and post-Soviet education ideologies is deconstructed by unpacking internationalisation processes of higher education policy development, graduate experiences, culture and curriculum practices. The notions of brain drain, faculty and student mobility are foregrounded. It, therefore, makes valuable contributions to theoretical knowledge and practice and provides insights for policymakers to consider in shaping internationalisation of higher education in the future. Thus, higher education students, faculty, researchers, scholars and policymakers will find this volume significant.
