Arianna Maiorani is Reader in Linguistics and Multimodality in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Loughborough University, UK. A linguist, multimodalist and semiotician, she is also a former professional ballet dancer, teacher and choreographer. Her research and publications focus on discourse analysis, multimodality, systemic functional linguistics, and the semiotics of movement-based communication in space and hyper-environments. Her most recent book is Kinesemiotics: Modelling How Choreographed Movement Means in Space (2021).

C. Bruna Mancini is Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Calabria, Italy. An expert in the investigation of the fantastic in both literature and film, her areas of research specialism are translation studies, media studies, gender studies, and cultural studies. Her most recent book is Spazi del femminile nelle letterature e culture di lingua inglese fra Settecento e Ottocento [Feminine Spaces in English Literature and Culture between the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries] (2020).
