Driver distraction worldwide results in an estimated 340,000 roadway deaths annually, causing concern for legislators and traffic planners. Research institutions study driver distraction accidents on roadways and railroad crossings, most of which are preventable. The results of such studies appear in reports, journals, and conference proceedings, often nebulous and difficult for a reader to locate and comprehend. Most cover light personal vehicles and commercial motor vehicle driver distraction. This book focuses on transit bus driver distractions and is an essential guide for transit bus agencies, academicians, and professionals involved in transportation safety. It is also beneficial for the public and private transportation industries and academicians to focus on the public transit safety system. This book is a must for every transit bus agency worldwide and professionals involved in transportation safety.
