The nature of man and society are topics investigated by philosophers and scientists who have formulated theories to explain the birth of Homo Sapiens, its evolution and civilization.
Throughout its chapters, this book deals with cosmic and geological conditions that gave rise to Earth and the emergence of life, analyzes Homo’s character that has led to the development of civilizations with their negative and positive aspects, considers different ways in which societies are founded, examines Homo’s role on Earth, its relationship with other living beings and the ecological conditions, and presents some aspects related to the future of Homo, its survival, the conquest of space and future social conditions with the presence of robots, cyborgs and AI apparatuses. This futuristic scenario includes the enhancement of Homo with genetic engineering.
This book adopts a multidisciplinary approach grounded on scientific data formulated by paleontology, anthropology, neurophysiology, geology, evolutionary biology and genetics and on the concept of eventualism, so it allows us to formulate a global vision of Homo: its birth, evolution, and its present and future condition.
