Stanley Weintraub (1929-2019) was Professor and Evan Pugh Professor (1956-2000) and Director of the Institute for the Arts & Humanistic Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, USA (1970-1990). He was a distinguished military historian, eminent biographer, Victorian era specialist, and one of the world’s foremost authorities on George Bernard Shaw. He served as Second Lieutenant and was a Bronze Star recipient during the Korean War (1949-1952); those experiences led him to focus his writing on military history in the latter part of his career. His memoir A Writing Life: Revisiting the Past was published in 2020.

David A. Weintraub is Director emeritus of the Communication of Science, Engineering and Technology and Professor emeritus of Astronomy at Vanderbilt University, USA. His books include Is Pluto a Planet?; How Old is the Universe?; Religions and Extraterrestrial Life: How Will We Deal With It?; Life on Mars: What to Know Before We Go; and The Sky is for Everyone: Women Astronomers in Their Own Words (with Virginia Trimble). He is creator and lead editor of a series of scientific autobiographies for children, the Who Me? books.
