Maria Palicica holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is a qualified teacher of educational philosophy, educational sociology, pedagogy, and philosophy, and has been teaching these disciplines for 40 years. She has published 12 books and over 100 national and international papers in these areas. She is Head of the Department of Teaching Staff Training, Social Sciences and Humanities and Continuous Education at the BUASVM in Timişoara, Romania. She has co-edited Social Sciences Today: Between Theory and Practice (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2010).
