He obtained a MS and PhD in Soil Physics and Turfgrass Science in the Plant and Environmental Science Department at Clemson University, USA, where he studied, among other things, soil compaction relief on heavily trafficked sports fields and the dynamics of water movement in porous media in relation to sports fields. He also has been a Lecturer at Bishop Burton College, UK, and he is an active member of several professional societies.
