Sudhir Chandra Pal received his PhD from Calcutta University, India, in 1982 and taught Chemistry at Midnapore College, India, starting from 1978. He served as the first coordinator of the Postgraduate section (introduced in 2006) and headed the Chemistry Department from 2008 until his retirement in 2012. His doctoral and post-doctoral research focused on the isolation, characterization, and synthesis of natural products, resulting in ten published papers with Professor Avijit Banerji between 1977 and 1984. Post-2006, his independent research centered on synthetic methodologies and multi-component reactions, leading to ten publications and two PhD awards from Vidyasagar University, India. He organized an international symposium on organic chemistry research in 2011. After retirement, he taught as a guest lecturer at various colleges and universities. He has authored three books: “Nomenclature of Organic Compounds”, and “Essentials of Chemistry Vol. 1 and 2”.
