Survivors of Suicide

Fatma Zehra Fidan completed her primary and secondary education in Anamur, Türkiye, before graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ege University, Türkiye, Department of Sociology. She completed her Master’s degree at Muğla University, Türkiye, with her study A Feminist Look on Latife Tekin’s Works: Poverty, societal marginalization and language, and was awarded a PhD by Dokuz Eylül University, Türkiye, for her study Woman Meets Modernity: Transformations of Piety in Modern Urban Life, which she completed at the Faculty of Theology of the University’s Department of Sociology of Religion. Fidan continues to shed light on women’s experiences from different perspectives throughout her studies. Her published works include: Modernlik ve Dindarlık Arasında Kadın (Woman Between Modernity and Piety) (2015), Kadın Bedeni ve İstismarı (Female Body and its Exploitation) (2015) (Ed.Fatma Zehra Fidan and Duygu Alptekin), and Yoksulluk Kıskacında Kadın (Woman in the Pincers of Poverty) (2016), Piety in a Niqab// A Lens Held over the Women of İsmailağa Jammmah (2019).
