Resolving the China-US Conflicts

As a counter-argument to the Thucydides’ Trap, this book contributes to the discipline of intercultural communication (ICC) studies with the construction of an ICC theory testified in real-life practices of resolving China-US conflicts. The book presents chapter topics of “On the Construction of Indigenous Chinese Communication Theories,” “Construction of Water and Game Theory for Intercultural communication,” “Win-Loss-Win in the US–China Game,” and “Thucydides’ Trap and Online Readers’ Reviews.” While demystifying the imagined China threat, this book argues that most of the China-US conflicts can be resolved as a result of the deeply-rooted bonds and intuitive gratitude between the peoples of the two great lands. The research findings of this book can shed light on those who are in strong support of an inevitable China-US war based on zero-sum gaming mentality and those who spare no efforts advocating mutual benefits between the two countries via win-win approaches.
