However, we can firmly state that this subject is still open to further research. This volume offers a multitude of perspectives on Europe’s political establishments in the early 1920s. It offers new insights into this crucial point in twentieth-century history from the perspectives of the Great Powers, the small countries, the winners, the losers and the neutral parties. Many of the studies contained within are on topics that are completely new to the field and will have a profound impact on the historical literature.

Sorin Arhire is Associate Professor in the History Department at the University of Alba Iulia, Romania. He has published over 40 articles and studies and a number of books, including Marea Britanie și România (1936–1941): Relații politice, economice și culturale [Great Britain and Romania, 1936–1941: Political, economic and cultural relations] (2015) and Memoria Urbis: An Illustrated History of Alba Iulia (2021).

Tudor Roșu is Deputy Manager at the National Museum of Union Alba Iulia, Romania. He has more than 60 articles and books to his name, most notably August Treboniu Laurian (1810–1881): discurs istoric romantic [August Treboniu Laurian, 1810–1881: Romantic historical discourse] (2008) and 1 Decembrie 1918: Radiografia unei zile [1 December 1918: The radiography of the day] (2021).

Călin Anghel is Lecturer in the History Department at the University of Alba Iulia, Romania. He has published over 30 articles and studies and several books, including Evoluția urbanistică a orașului Sebeș [The urban development of Sebeș town] (2011) and Memoria Urbis: An Illustrated History of Alba Iulia (2021).
