Maria Fernanda Brasete is a Professor of Classical Culture and Latin at the University of Aveiro. She has authored numerous articles and book chapters, co-edited several books, and translated works from Greek to Portuguese, including Semonides of Amorgos’s “Fr. 7” (2005), Pindar’s “Nemea V”, Bacchylides’s “Epinician” 13 (2006), and Euripides’s “Electra” (2018). Her recent publications include book chapters on classical reception, such as “The Twelve Labours of Heracles in a Mozambican Short-Story” (2020) and “A Poetic Drift through the Confines of the Mediterranean in the Poetry of João Luís Barreto Guimarães”. She co-authored “Francisco Dias Gomes. Duas Tragédias Clássicas: Ifigénia e Electra” (2020) and is the editor-in-chief of the journal Ágora.Estudos Clássicos em debate.

Carlos Morais is a Professor in the Department of Languages and Cultures at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, specializing in Greek literature and its reception. He authored “Portuguese Masks of Antigone” (2001) and “António Sérgio: Antigone(s) – Four Variations on a Myth” (2020). He co-edited “Portrayals of Antigone in Portugal” (2017), “Portraits of Medea in Portugal” (2018), and “Greek Mythic Heroines in Brazilian Literature and Performance” (2023).
