Frederick S. Southwick graduated from Yale College, USA, and earned his MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, USA. He completed his internal medicine training at Boston City Hospital and infectious disease training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Southwick has held positions at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania, USA, and served as Chief of Infectious Diseases at the University of Florida, USA, for 19 years. A tenured Professor of Medicine, he spent 30 years as a National Institutes of Health-funded investigator studying bacteria-host interactions. He is currently the Director of Patient Care Quality and Safety for the University of Florida’s Division of Hospitalist Medicine.

Nila S. Radhakrishnan is Assistant Dean for Quality and Patient Safety Applications and Chief of Hospital Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, USA. She completed the University of Miami’s Honors BS/MD program and served as Chief Resident and later Associate Residency Program Director. Recruited to Boston University, USA, she became Vice Chair in the Department of Medicine before joining the University of Florida in 2011. A senior fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine, she focuses on patient safety, leadership, and team-based care.
