Adenocarcinoma of the kidney is the most common type of kidney tumour that is encountered in the world, and the majority of these tumours tend to be associated with predictable reasonable prognosis based upon the histological grade and pathological stage of the tumours pursuant to treatment. However, there are miscellaneous rare tumours of the kidney which tend to be mis-diagnosed initially, or for which the diagnosis has tended to be delayed, or associated difficulties in defining the correct cell type of tumour as well, as these tumours have tended to be associated with poor prognosis and there is an urgent global need for the development of new effective treatment options and medicaments that would improve the prognosis. New monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are needed to help in the prompt diagnosis of these tumours. These tumours have not been covered in the majority of surgery and urology text books to help clinicians have a high index of suspicion for the tumours. The book contains miscellaneous additional rare tumours of the kidney which all clinicians should know about.
