This book provides a framework for conflict resolution and peaceful co-existence. It analyzes the remote and immediate causes of Ethno-Religious Conflicts in Kaduna Metropolis of Northern Nigeria, discusses its impact on socio-economic and political development of the state and how the recurring ethno-religious conflicts have impacted on national security, and examines the roles played by political and religious leaders in conflict resolution and peace building. It also points out modalities put in place by the Kaduna State Government and religious leaders at proffering solution to persistent ethno-religious conflicts in Kaduna metropolis by establishing an Interfaith Mediation Centre. In essence, this book serves as reading and reference material for researchers of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.

Dr Margaret Aladi Shaibu is a Senior Lecturer with the Department of History and War Studies, Nigerian Defence Academy. She obtained her first Degree in History/Education in 1991 from the University of Jos, Nigeria, Masters of Arts History in 1996 from the University of Jos, and PhD Military History in 2017 from the Nigerian Defence Academy. Dr Shaibu specializes in Military and Social History. Her area of research interest is in International Peacekeeping/Peace Support Operations, Humanitarian Studies, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. She has published several articles on Military History in both local and International University base academic journals and books.

Brigadier General Julius Onwuemeusa Ogbobe graduated in 1996 from the Department of History, Nigerian Defence Academy, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He equally holds a Master’s Degree in Conflict and Security Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy in 2018, a Postgraduate Degree from the International Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Santiago, Chile, and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy (MPhil) in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy. His area of specialization is in Security and Strategic Studies and his area of research interest is in Leadership and Security Strategic Studies, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.
