This book encapsulates the experiences of African immigrant children and their families as they navigate the complexities of forging new identities in a foreign land while upholding their African cultures and heritage languages through their parents. Their journeys, marked by challenges and triumphs, highlight the universal struggle of belonging for newly arrived immigrants in any host country. Throughout their stories, we see how immigrant children become bridges between cultures, enriching their adopted communities while preserving the essence of their roots to the extent that is possible. They embody the fusion of tradition and modernity along with the challenges. The book provides invaluable insights about African immigrant children to educators, policymakers, parents, and other social service professionals.
