Michael T. Ndemanu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Ball State University, USA. He is currently the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of African and African American Studies at the University of Kansas and the Associate Director for Kansas University, African Studies Center.

James C. Kigamwa is the Research and Evaluation Director at Literacy International, an education nonprofit that advances language and literacy programs globally. As a former postdoctoral fellow at the Great Lakes Equity Center at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis, USA, James specializes in literacy and ESL (English as a Second Language) research and has taught courses in reading, ESL assessment, and multicultural education.
