Taiwan, a land where faiths meet and mutual respect thrives, exemplifies the beauty of religious pluralism woven into its very identity. At the core of this harmonious coexistence lies the Catholic Church’s profound commitment to interreligious dialogue, a legacy shaped by the pioneering efforts of Cardinal Paul Yu Pin, Archbishop Stanislas Luo Kuang, and Father Albert Poulet-Mathis.
Through their visionary leadership and innovative approaches, these trailblazers not only enriched the Church’s mission but also strengthened the social harmony that defines Taiwan’s unique pluralism. Their stories highlight a timeless truth: dialogue is not merely theoretical but a dynamic process grounded in shared values and authentic relationships.
As global challenges demand unity across religious boundaries, this book underscores the transformative power of dialogue. It offers an inspiring example of how Taiwan’s celebration of religious freedom and diversity can guide communities worldwide toward solidarity, mutual understanding, respect and hope.

Paulin Batairwa Kubuya, a Xaverian missionary from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), has worked in the Philippines, China, and Taiwan to live, promote, and teach interreligious dialogue.
