This book is aimed at professionals and students, be it in Nursing, Public Health, or Social Sciences; however, it is also recommended for individuals who have an overall interest in the topic of Child Obesity.
In this book, we investigate the subject of childhood obesity by aiming to analyse its many complex facets, and how we can potentially move forward by reducing its threat. It analyses evidence related to best practice ideas in the UK and from other countries, the role of epigenetics, the role of Ultra Processed Foods in our diet, the role of the gut microbiome in metabolism, the impact of food marketing on children, and how Trade Agreements might impact food quality.
The book concludes with recommendations of good practice for health professionals, parents and families, and policy makers, while looking at the importance of involving everyone as forces for change in our children’s behaviours, and thus improving our society’s future health outcome.
