He also serves as an honorary associate at the University of Liverpool, UK. Ryan holds a PhD from Teesside University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
His research focuses on incorporating technology into pedagogy. Ryan is also interested in contemporary issues related to research methods, such as internet ethics, and the ethical implications of using artificial intelligence for data analysis.
Ryan’s research has been published in business and social science journals, including Research in Post-Compulsory Education, Practice: Contemporary Issues in Practitioner Education, Frontiers in Education, and the Berkman Klein Centre at Harvard University. Ryan is a Review Editor and Editorial Board Member for Frontiers in Research Metrics and Analytics.
Ryan has taught extensively at Teesside University, the University of Liverpool, the University of Essex, and the University of Sunderland, all UK.
