This is a comprehensive preview of all peptide and peptide-based medicines currently in global market for intervention, treatment, prevention and diagnosis of human illnesses. It covers a historical background of disease, the pandemics and the important concept of drugs. It presents an up-to date description of all globally approved peptide-drugs, insights into their discoveries, information and knowledge about their advantages and benefits compared to nonpeptide small molecule drugs. The recent surge of interest and discovery of a growing number of peptide drugs, especially in the last decade, fully justify the crucial relevance of this book. This book is intended for students, physicians, health professionals, researchers in peptide chemistry and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for the general population for information, education and knowledge about small molecule peptide-based drugs. The scientific challenges, commercial production, mechanistic pathway, overcoming limitations and rationale designing of drugs, including the important aspect of drug delivery and administration, all constitute important part of this book.
