Based on comprehensive field research with 300 young Albanian males from Kosovo, this book investigates the intricate relationships between morphological, physiological, and biochemical variables in athletes and non-athletes. Using rigorous empirical methods and advanced statistical analyses, it explores how structured physical training influences the body’s structural and functional domains, both in manifest and latent spaces. The findings reveal distinctive biological profiles shaped by training status, with implications for sports science, preventive medicine, and public health. The work preserves the methodological and historical integrity of research conducted in the immediate post-conflict period (2000–2001), while updating its presentation to meet contemporary academic standards. Rich with empirical data, theoretical context, and interpretive discussion, it offers a valuable resource for anthropologists, physiologists, sports scientists, and health professionals seeking to understand the multidimensional nature of human performance and adaptation.

Agron M. Rexhepi is a Professor of Sports Medicine and founding member of the Institute of Sports Anthropology in Kosovo. He holds an MD, a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, and a PhD in Sports Medicine. Since 2013, he has served as a tutor at Oxford College (UK) across multiple diploma and degree-level programmes in sports sciences, health, and nutrition. His career spans over three decades of teaching, research, and clinical practice, with more than 70 scientific publications in international journals and books covering anthropometry, physiology, and sports medicine. He has served on editorial and advisory boards of medical science journals, and as a sports physician for professional basketball clubs. His 2022 book Nutrition, Health and Sport, published by Cambridge Scholars, has been recommended to Oxford College students as supplementary reading. His research integrates morphological, physiological, and biochemical analysis, contributing to evidence-based practice in sports performance and public health. This is his fourth book.
