This textbook constitutes an interdisciplinary body of work aimed at responding to the changing language studies terrain in a globalized world. This collection pertains to the integration of four previously distinct fields – Translation Studies, Linguistics, Literary Studies and Education – in a unified framework, revealing their interconnectedness and current relevance to contemporary issues and Technology. It meets the increasing need for a comprehensive language studies paradigm in consonance with global trends, technological developments and socio-cultural exigences. The collection’s scope is broad, but it does not purport to discuss every regional and cultural perspective. Dr Nabil Al-Awawdeh earned his master’s degree from the University of Potsdam, Germany, in foreign languages and linguistics and his doctoral degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, in 2018 in romance languages (translation). He is currently working as an assistant/ professor at Yarmouk University in Jordan. His areas of specialization are linguistics and translation. He developed various courses for his students, including phonetics, translation, and linguistics. He is a reviewer and part of the editorial board of several journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science and other databases. He is also a translator of several languages, including Arabic, German, French, and English. He published several articles and books on translation studies and linguistics. He is also the founder and owner of Scientific-Board (publication services).

Dr Rafat Mahmoud Al Rousan is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics at the Department of Translation-Yarmouk University, Jordan. He obtained his PhD degree in Applied Linguistics from Utara Universiti Malaysia in 2013. He teaches courses in linguistics including sociolinguistics, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, phonetics, research methodology, among others. His research interests include sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and gender and computer-mediated communication (CMC).
