Formal Approaches to Celtic Linguistics

Andrew Carnie is Professor of Linguistics and Faculty Director in the Graduate College at the University of Arizona, USA. His research concentrates on the grammar of Modern Irish, Old Irish and Modern Scottish Gaelic, with an emphasis on Minimalist approaches to morphosyntax and experimental approaches to phonology. He is the author or editor of nine books, including Modern Syntax (Cambridge University Press, 2011), Constituent Structure (Oxford University Press, 2nd edition, 2010), Irish Nouns (Oxford University Press, 2008), Syntax: A Generative Introduction (Wiley-Blackwell, 2006) and Verb First (John Benjamins, 2003), as well as numerous articles.
