Marinela Burada is Associate Professor in the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics in the Faculty of Letters at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. She received her MEd from Manchester University, UK, and her PhD in Indo-European Linguistics from the University of Bucharest, Romania. Her research interests centre on contact linguistics, lexicography, and academic literacy, areas in which she has published a number of books and articles. She co-authored (with Raluca Sinu) Research and Practice in Lexicography (2016), and has served as editor and co-editor of the volumes resulting from the Conference on British and American Studies since its first edition, in 2003.

Oana Tatu is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Letters at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, and has a PhD in Linguistics. Her research and professional interests fall within the scope of literary translation, applied linguistics, and Renaissance English literature, and have materialized in several publications in these fields, including Translating Shakespeare. The Challenge of the Romanian Language. She has also co-organized the Conference on British and American Studies, an academic forum hosted by Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, since 2011.

Raluca Sinu is Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Letters at Transilvania University of Braşov, Romania. She holds a PhD in Linguistics, and is the author and co-author of a number of articles and books in the fields of audiovisual translation, applied linguistics, and lexicography. Her book Humour in Film Subtitling (2013) represents an investigation into the strategies Romanian translators employ when dealing with linguistic and extralinguistic humour. She is also the co-author of Research and Practice in Lexicography (2016), which deals with some of the major issues in the lexicographical field both at international level and in the Romanian context. Since 2011, she has also co-organized the Conference on British and American Studies.
