This volume represents a collection of papers from active researchers and practitioners from around the world who came together in their shared interest to discuss recent developments in higher education.

Comprehensive in nature, it focuses on the need to address emerging and diverse issues in education, and highlights the necessity of a comprehensive account of recent developments in higher education. It offers insights into the ways in which higher education continuously evolves and how it has risen to face constant challenges, such as the changing perceptions resulting from new instructional practices and current research investigations.

Nataša Bakić-Mirić, PhD, teaches at the Foreign Languages Training Institute in Bologna, Italy, and is also an Adjunct Faculty Member at Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Her research is heavily focused on intercultural communication, multiple intelligences theory, English for Specific Purposes, and the poetry of Percy Bysshe Shelley. She has authored four and edited two books, and is an author and co-author of over 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Dr Bakić-Mirić also serves as a reviewer and editor for several referred international journals, and is a member of a number of international professional associations. She has also received several grants to pursue her research interests abroad, and has been an invited lecturer at several foreign universities.

Davronzhon Erkinovich Gaipov, PhD, teaches at Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he is Dean of the Faculty of Philology and oversees hiring processes and faculty development, in addition to working on curriculum design. His research is heavily focused on multilingual education, multilingualism and language policy. He has co-authored a scientific-terminological electronic dictionary in four languages (English, Russian, Kazakh and Turkish), and is the author of a number of publications in national and international journals. In 2012, Dr. Gaipov received a grant to pursue his research interests at the University of Birmingham, UK, and he also serves as a member of the editorial boards of in two international journals.
