It presents indigenous frameworks applied to subjects in education, the humanities and sciences that transcend the boundaries of culture and inform critical praxis in teacher education.

Dr Babalola J. Ogunkola is the Director of the School of Education in the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. He holds a PhD in Science Education and Evaluation, and has over 80 publications in several local and international journals to his credit. He is a regular presenter of academic research papers at local and international conferences, and is the Managing Editor of the Caribbean Educational Research Journal (CERJ) and an Executive Editorial Board Member of Intellectbase International Consortium based in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. He is also a member of a number of professional associations and institutes such as the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics.

Stacey Blackman is a Lecturer in Special Education at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus, Barbados. She completed her first and second degrees at the University of the West Indies, and her PhD at Cambridge University, UK, as a Cambridge Commonwealth and Chevening Scholar. Her research addresses a broad range of topics and activities on teachers’ pedagogical practices, inclusion, pupil perspectives, and wider issues related to persons with disabilities in the Caribbean region.
