Integrating the reflections of a practicing clinical pharmacist who specializes in hematology and oncology, this book illuminates some of the most fundamental yet fascinating aspects of a broad range of solid and blood cancers, their novel drug therapies, and strategies to advance oncology pharmacy practice. By emphasizing key concepts rather than a comprehensive review, it provides a clear introduction to oncology principles, making it easier for clinicians and students alike to understand pathophysiology, pharmacology and supportive care issues.

Clement To Chung currently works as a senior oncology clinical pharmacy specialist at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Houston, Texas, United States. Of Chinese descent, Clement Chung is well-versed in both Chinese and English. He holds a long-time interest in literature and history, graduated from King’s College in Hong Kong, studied medicine for a year, then moved to the United States where he completed his undergraduate and graduate professional studies at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA).
In his career as an oncology clinical pharmacist, Clement Chung strives to advance the quality, safety, and value of oncology pharmacy. He was instrumental in developing and implementing an interdisciplinary oncology program in the Seattle area (2005-2012), a computerized physician order entry system for chemotherapy in a safety net health system in Houston, Texas (2015-2016), and most recently, a multidisciplinary treatment-related toxicity detection and reduction program for cancer patients.
