Donald Elder attended Northwestern University, USA, and received a teaching certificate from the University of Northern Iowa. He then received his PhD from the University of California, San Diego. He has taught at Eastern New Mexico University since 1995. He has written five books, and has edited six others. Dr Elder has been the radio broadcaster for all Eastern New Mexico University football, basketball, and baseball games since 1996. He has also co-hosted The Morning Throwdown on 105.9, KSEL-Country since 2001. He was named the Sportscaster of the Year by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association in 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. He was inducted into the New Mexico Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2012, and named Lone Star Conference Broadcaster of the Year.

Michael F. Shaughnessy is currently Professor at Eastern New Mexico University. He has been a social studies teacher, coach, guidance counselor and school psychologist. He received his doctorate from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and has conducted postdoctoral work at Texas Tech University and George Washington University. He has authored, co-authored, edited and co-edited approximately 50 books and more than 500 journal articles. He has also served on the editorial boards of several major journals.
