Roadscapes, a Sociopoetics of the Road

Catherine Morgan-Proux holds a PhD in American literature and is a lecturer in Anglophone studies at Université Clermont Auvergne, France. She is a member of the Centre des Recherches sur les Littératures et la Sociopoétique, where she carries out research on travel narratives, and has published several chapters in edited volumes. In 2019, she was awarded a fellowship at the Kluge Center in the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, for a project on cultural representations of women and the road.

Leisha Ashdown-Lecointre teaches English at Université Clermont Auvergne, France. She has a PhD in 19th-century French literature and is a member of the Centre des Recherches sur les Littératures et la Sociopoétique, where she researches on pantomime, the portrayal of the actor in nineteenth century French literature, and the links between French regional and national authors and their correspondence.
