Understanding Libraries and Reading among Children

Dr Nkhangweni Patricia Mahwasane obtained her doctoral degree with a dissertation on the topic “School libraries and the development of reading habits among rural Foundation Phase (grade three) learners in Vhembe district, Limpopo Province.” She has published seventeen peer-reviewed papers about libraries, reading and learners. She is an editorial board member of five journals and an honorary advisory member of the Research Association. She is a life member of the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA), and has extensive experience as a teacher, teacher librarian, academic librarian, and researcher in library matters.
