This collection of essays provides critical and in-depth analyses of Nigerian law, with comparisons to the laws of England and Wales, Canada, Australia, the USA and Singapore. The contributions represent the entire gamut of Nigerian law, from land law and the Land Use Act, through banking law, to commercial law. Dr Remigius N Nwabueze is an Associate Professor of Law at the School of Law of the University of Southampton, UK. He received his SJD from the University of Toronto Law School, LLM degrees from the University of Manitoba Law School, Canada, and the University of Lagos Law School, Nigeria, and his LLB from the University of Nigeria Law School, where he was the class valedictorian. His primary areas of scholarship are the legal regulation of the biotechnological utilisation of human body parts and dead bodies; the ethical and legal regulation of biomedical research involving human participants; and equity and trusts law. He is the author of numerous journal articles and the books Biotechnology and the Challenge of Property: Property Rights in Dead Bodies, Body Parts, and Genetic Information (2007); The History and Sources of Conflict of Laws in Nigeria: With Comparisons to Canada (2009); Legal and Ethical Regulation of Biomedical Research In Developing Countries (2013); and Comparative Health Law and Policy: Critical Perspectives on Nigerian and Global Health Law (coedited with Irehobhude O Iyioha) (2015). Some of his works have been cited by the US Federal Court of Appeals (2nd Circuit) and the Federal High Court of Nigeria.
