Michael D. Shields is Clinical Professor of Child Health at Queen’s University Belfast and consultant paediatrician at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. He has facilitated a module on ethical issues in paediatrics at Queen’s University Belfast for the past 20 years.
