The Manifold Nature of Bilingual Education

María Teresa Calderón Quindós is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Valladolid, Spain. She was awarded by the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics in 2005, and her most notable publication appeared in the Annual Review of Cognitive Linguistics (2005). She has also carried out research on English literature and foreign language education, and is currently teaching General English in Teacher Education Studies at the School of Education and Social Work of the University of Valladolid.

Natalia Barranco Izquierdo, PhD, is currently teaching at the University of Valladolid, Spain. Her main research interest is methods of teaching and learning English as a foreign language. She has published papers on mediation as a communication language activity and early foreign language teaching, and her main publication appeared in Revista Electrónica Interuniversitaria de Formación del Profesorado (2017).

Tina Eisenrich has extensive experience within the field of Teaching English as a Second Language. She holds a TEFL certificate and a degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. After years as a Business English Teacher within the Spanish context, she decided to specialize in Primary Education and returned to school in 2015 as an undergraduate student in the Teacher Education Studies program at the University of Valladolid, Spain. Her research interests include ways of including the reading of fiction within non-linguistic disciplines to enrich the CLIL classroom.
