Dr Gang Chen is the Chair Professor and Director of the Center for Social and Economic Behavior Studies at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, China. He received an MA in Anthropology from Iowa State University, USA, in 1993, and a PhD in the same field from the Ohio State University, USA, in 2000. His main research interests are in the areas of business anthropology, food safety and culture, development anthropology and cultural tourism, globalization and culture change. He has received numerous research grants and has published substantially both in the USA and in China.

Mary Reisel is an anthropologist, and has taught and worked in Japan since 2000. Her professional academic research focuses on aspects of intimacy and sexuality, and the way formation of intimate relations is connected to economy and labour in the contemporary world. In addition to her research and publications, she is working as an applied anthropologist specializing in virtual anthropology and Internet psychology. She is currently teaching at Rikkyo University in Tokyo and in various different MBA programs.
