This book explores the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in Latin America. It highlights the challenges and possibilities for the countries of this region, and analyzes the evolution of the Social Economy’s processes in order to ascertain its implications and social dimensions. The text also deals with solidarity alternatives in the capital market and the emergencies that occur in order to humanize the capitalist system.

Pablo Baisotti received his PhD in Politics, Institutions and History from the School of Political Science of the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2015, having previously obtained an MPhil in European-Latin American International Relations from the same institution in 2008. He also holds an MA in Law and Economic Integration from the University of Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne and the University del Salvador, Argentina. He is currently an Associate Researcher at the University of Brasilia, Brazil.

Horacio López Muñoz is an accountant and Professor at the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala and University del Valle de Tlaxcala, Mexico. He holds Master’s degrees in Finance from the Instituto de Estudios Universitarios, Taxes from the Centro de Ciencias Juridicas de Puebla, and Public Accounting from the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala. Currently, he is a PhD student at Coltlax, Tlaxcala, Mexico.
