The volume focuses on the interaction between figurative language, embodiment, and society and culture from various theoretical and applied perspectives and methodologies. It bears wit-ness to the vibrancy of research into figurative language and the role of embodiment, with conceptualization motivated not just by our physical interaction with the external world, but also by social and cultural phenomena. The topics explored here include the impact of figura-tion on all levels of linguistic analysis, including grammar, discourse, and the relationship be-tween language and emotions.

Mario Brdar is Professor of English Linguistics at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Croatia. His main research interests include cognitive linguistics, morphosyntax, and lexi¬cal semantics, and his publications focus on metonymy and metaphor and grammatical constructions.

Rita Brdar-Szabó is Associate Professor of German Linguistics at Loránd Eötvös University, Hungary. Her research interests include cognitive linguistics, word formation, and contrastive linguistics. She has mostly published on metaphor and metonymy, prototype theory, and usage-based models.

Goran Milić is Assistant Professor of English at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Croatia. His main research interests include cognitive linguistics, word formation and discourse analysis, and his work focuses on the application of conceptual metaphor and metonymy in cross-linguistic contact and translation.

Dubravka Vidaković Erdeljić is Assistant Professor of English Linguistics at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Croatia. Her main research interests include various topics in cognitive linguistics, translation studies, languages in contact, and translation of figurative terminology in LSP.
