This book is a unique representation of the learning and experience in the area of waste management. It will work as a tool for students, young professionals and people who are passionate about building their career in the field of waste management in India. The book takes entrepreneurs through the journey of forming and working of enterprises/start-ups. It provides solutions to common concerns of entrepreneurs in the form of modules on subject matter of waste management, forming an enterprise, exploring opportunities, implementation and management of projects, and other important aspects involved in day-to-day running of a waste management enterprise.

Shyamli Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. She holds a PhD in Environmental Management, and has authored several textbooks, monographs, articles, and papers. She has wide experience of research, teaching, and consultancy, and has served as Project Director for various prestigious projects and studies of government departments.

Ashish Jain is the Founding Director of the Indian Pollution Control Association, and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of solid waste management. He is the author of several books and articles, and has served as an Expert Member for national committees constituted by CPCB for improving solid waste and plastic waste management rules.

Nidhi Pasi is currently working as an Advisor at IPCA, and has over 14 years of experience in the thematic areas of waste management and natural resource management. She has led multiple projects with responsibilities ranging from conceptualization, implementation, evaluation, and reporting, to training. She holds a doctorate in Environment and Natural Resources Policy from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.

Garima Kaushik is working as an Expert in Programs and Partnerships at the Indian Pollution Control Association. She has over eight years of experience in issues pertaining to waste management and sustainable consumption, and has expertise in project management, training and capacity-building, stakeholder management, and documentation.
