Peng Xu, MSc, PhD, is a Professor in the School of Environment and Energy Engineering at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He received his PhD in Engineering from the University of Hull, UK. As one of the executive directors and technical experts of the China Gas Society, he focuses on city gas safety, transmission and distribution system operations, as well as combustion and pollution control. He has published over 100 academic papers and participated in the writing of more than 10 textbooks and academic monographs in Chinese or English.

Shuhui Zhan is an Associate Professor at the School of Environment and Energy Engineering of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. She has been engaged in teaching, research and consulting in the gas engineering industry for nearly 40 years and is a renowned expert in the field of gas safety.
