Lilly Nortjé-Meyer is a Professor of New Testament and Head of the Department of Religion Studies at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. She previously served as the President of the New Testament Society of Southern Africa (2019-2021), and Co-Leader of the Feminist Interpretation Section of the International Society of Biblical Literature (2016-2022). Her research focuses on gender-critical readings of New Testament texts, particularly the Gospel of John, the Letter to the Ephesians, and the Letter of Jude. She has published 41 journal articles and 15 book chapters, and is the editor of three volumes.
