It also explores whether and how dubbing affects the plot and characterisation of original TV series, while its focus on Italian dubbing provides more detailed and specific insight into the phenomenon.

Giulia Magazzù obtained a PhD in English Studies at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and currently works as Research Fellow at “Gabriele D’Annunzio” University of Chieti – Pescara, Italy. Her areas of research are translation studies, audiovisual translation, and critical discourse analysis. Her publications include a book on the multimodal translation of musicals.
