This volume provides a compilation of renal transplant biopsies, along with the clinical background of several interesting cases, and is a compelling read for practising nephrologists, renal pathologists, and transplant surgeons, as well as trainees in these fields. It blends the complex principles of handling and interpretation of biopsies with microphotographs and detailed descriptions. For clinicians, it will serve as a resource with which to plan treatment strategies, while it will serve as a concise and practical guide for renal pathologists.

Dr Renu Mariam Thomas completed her specialist training (CCST) in Histopathology in the UK. She has a special interest in renal and transplantation pathology and founded the Nephro-Pathology Services at VPS Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre, India. She has authored and co-authored several publications in national and international journals, as well as a chapter on “Gastrointestinal Pathology” in Clinical Gastroenterology.

Dr Kartik Ganesh is a Practicing Nephrologist and Renal Transplant Physician at VPS Lakeshore Hospital and Research Center, India. He completed his specialist training at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, India, and has authored several journal articles, covering subjects such as posterior reversible encephalopathy syndromes in renal failure, pediatric transplantation, and thrombotic microangiopathies, among others.

Dr Sunita Simon has been working in the field of Nephrology and Critical Care Nephrology for over 15 years. She is part of the Teaching Faculty in the Nephrology Training Programme at VPS Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre, India. She has co-authored publications in the subject areas of thrombotic microangiopathies and invasive fungal diseases in renal transplant.
