But this one covers space between England and Bangladesh and reflects real international exchange experience in this field of archaeological activity as far as it is based on the proceedings of two meetings, which took place in Ireland and Russia recently: session “Heritage Administrative Law in the 21st Century. Fact or Fantasy?” at the 11th Annual Meeting of European Association of Archaeologists at Cork in September 2005 and the meeting “Security of Archaeological Heritage” at St. Petersburg in May 2006.

Nick Petrov is assistant professor at St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts (Russia), Faculty of the History of World Culture. He is full member of Novgorod Society of Fanciers of Antiquities. Since 1994 he manages field researches of medieval sites at the Novgorod region. Еarlier during 7 years he taught “Archaeology of the Iron Age” and “Archaeological Historiography” at St. Petersburg State University, Historical Faculty. In 2003 he was сo-ordinator of the 9th Annual Meeting of European Association of Archaeologists at St. Petersburg.
